AGFD's Education Branch has a variety of programs designed especially for teachers, students, and homeschoolers. Free "Project Wild" workshops for educators are provided throughout the state - contact Sandy at 602-789-3243. Resource Trunks (a.k.a. Bone Boxes) full of hands-on study materials are available for a one-week loan - contact your regional AGFD office (availability may vary) or in Phoenix call Sharon at 602-789-3220. Wild Kids K-12 Activity Pages focusing on specific wildlife themes can be downloaded at www.thegreenfrognews.com. Every Spring, the Wildlife Building at the State Fairgrounds is open to 4th-grade classes for a 2-hour "Arizona Experience" - call Sam at 602-789-3220 or e-mail svoiland@gf.state.az.us. Spend the summer exploring Arizona's unique wildlife and habitats in a program designed for students entering grades 5-8 (10-13 years old) - contact Sharon at 602-789-3220. To participate in native fish research activities, contact Karen at 602-789-3238. Or for additional info about any of these programs, call Sam at 602-789-3220 or e-mail svoiland@gf.state.az.us. You can also check with your closest regional office (Pinetop, Flagstaff, Kingman, Yuma, Tucson, and Mesa), but resource and program availability may vary.

Their website is a great resource for information and lesson plans about animals; the environment and natural resources; home and family; consumer education and investing; food, nutrition, and health; plants, gardening, and agriculture.
